Romulus and Remus - A story by Sofia
30 06 2006The glistening sun rose up from behind the green giant mountains, and the mist that had covered the ground like a enormous gray blanket lifted, Rhea Silvia walked down the dark crumbly path carrying her two little baby boys, the dark sandy floor crumbled and cracked under her sandals. Rhea Silvia felt all hot sticky and the enormous trees looked like they were giving her harsh stares. She reached the gleaming river and lay the babys down the river rippled and the birds cherped, and Rhea Silvias brown hair blew in the silent breeze.
“Well I guess this good bye “sobbed Rhea Silvia undid the basket strapped to her back and placed it on the dusty river bank tears roaring down her cheaks the reeds and rushes rustled and the path crumbled. Rhea Silvia picked some of the tall green rushes and padded out the basket, then she undid her long head dress and rapped up her beautiful baby boys and then slowly and carefully Rhea Silvia placed the baby boys in the basket, kissed them on the head and put the basket in the river. A strong breeze blew, and Rhea felt uncertain but she had to do it
As Rhea watched her children float away she shouted “good bye i will never forget you, even though you will forget me” and the last thing she heard was a distant cry and the ripples of the river.
