Class Two have been investigating patterns that occur when odd and even numbers are added, subtracted, multiplied and divided.

Is it possible to predict whether the answer will be odd or even?

I found out that if you times an odd number by an even number it will always be an even number.
This might be because the even number has priority over the odd number.

I found out that: Odd x Even= even eg. (2×9) (8×5)(9x 12)

This might be because: odd x even is always even because Multiplication is related to adding because its like doubling eg. 9×2 =18 9+9=18
and the pattern of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 is odd even odd even so that makes it even.

This might be because there are two even numbers and there could not be an odd number as an answer.

I was testing odd times odd and even times even and anserwed the question why.
Odd times odd why?
because in a times table it always gose somthing like 2×3=6 then 3×3=9(odd) or 4×7=28 then 5×7=35(odd) so the first, third, fith and so on so forth oddxodd always = odd

EvenxEven=Even Why
because in a times table it always gose somthing like 3×3=9 4×3=12(even) 5×7=35 6×7=42(even) so the second, forth, sixth and so on so forth so evenxeven always = even

I found out that when you times an odd number by an even number the answer is always even (31×6=186. 7×2=14.)
This might be because when an even number is timesed by an even number, the answer is always even. (4×6=24. 8×2=16). If you times an odd number by an even number, the answer is always even.(5×4=20. 3×4=12). If you add an even number to an even number, the answer is always even. (2+6=8. 4+6=10)
