Air Raid Shelter designs

17 10 2006

Class Two have been designing air raid shelters using sketchup.

Have a look at their designs

Joe’s shelter

Edward and Jack’s shelter

Daena’s shelter

Dana and Elkie’s shelter

Andrew and Jack’s shelter

Sam and Sophie’s shelter

Milly and Julia Rose’s shelter

What items do you think people would have kept into the shelter?

Hi Class Two and Mr. Rowe

Wow. What fantastic designing with Sketchup! I’ve never seen the program being used by a primary school before.

I like the way you have given instructions on how to build them as this really brings your designs to life. How much research did you have to do to make sure the shelters could have been made by people during WWII? And how much were you able to use your own ideas to work up the designs?

Really impressive work.

Hi Class Two and Mr. Rowe

I just wanted to let you know that some of your air raid shelter designs will be featuring in D&T Practice magazine! I’ve put up a post linking to your designs at http://primarydt.ethink.org.uk/2006/10/20/google-sketchup/

I am really impressed with your designs and instructions. I have been looking for some details on how to build an Anderson shelter as I want to do this with my class.
Thank you for the inspiration!
