Today we went to the Shirehall in Shrewsbury. We started chanting on the bus on the way there, and we couldn’t wait to get our signs to hold. We got the signs to hold when we got off the bus, and stated to parade towards the Shirehall. We took a shortcut across the grass, and protested right in front of the building. Then some of us went in to the building, and went onto a higher level in there. We were not allowed our signs inside the building, but I don’t know why. I think it was so we didn’t break anything.

We need to keep Hope School open by persuading the shire hall to think about the children’s education. So today, Wednesday 30th January, we protested at Shire hall until the message got through to them. At Shire hall we were shouting ‘SAVE OUR SCHOOL’ and there were lots of police about. Some people went into the shirehall . We won part of the battle .  Hope school still has a lot of work to do until we know that the school wont close. Everyone does not wont the  school to shut because it is a happy and pleasant place. If you close the school then everyone will never see their best friends again.

                                        School protesters  On the 30^th January 2008 Hope school and a number of different school went to the Shire hall to protest. The protest was mainly about schools that were going to close. The journey down to the Shire hall was  extremely noisy as most of the pupils went on a bus. There were three different songs that were sung. When the children arrived at the Shire hall there was a lot of excitement.  People were holding placards and banners. Eventually everyone crossed the road and walked over to the shire hall offices. There were lots of school there already.After a lot of shouting Hope made there way to the main entrance of the shire hall.  A policeman told them to quiet down but the Hope school and many other schools paid no attention. Many photographers were there  and some camera men. At approximately quarter to eleven Hope school made there way back to the bus but first they marched around the grounds. After a lot of waiting and protesting it was announced that the council would reconsider and try not to close schools. Everyone cheered and clapped and Hope school walked back to the bus were they had their photo taken. After about two hours most of the schools went home. Hope school were pleased with the outcome and hope that the council will stick to there plan.        

Shire hall protesters  

On the 30^th, January 08 a group of primary schools, due of closing gathered together outside the Shire hall to protest about they’re schools being closed. We hopped on the bus at 9:00am and arrived at the Shire hall at 9:30, there were two buses for Hope school A and B. We took are banners out of the boot and walked across the road chanting songs about our school. There was a huge crowd of schools dotted all around the place in they’re school groups. Schools were moving round to try and get near the cameras and get into the building. Some people were quite far behind. Some people from Hope got a chance to go into the building. A few of Hope pupils spotted the newsround chap, Lizo, and got a glance on the camera. There were lots of security police shouting to be quiet through a homophone. People dressed up as badgers were shouting to not be quiet and keep on chanting, it made us giggle. Soon we had to walk to the front to hear the decision they had chosen. It was quite nerve wracking to wait. You could hear people hooraying that they’re school would be open a while longer than before. We were at the back so we couldn’t hear very well and they repeated what they said. Then we heard that our school was one of them that would stay open a bit longer. We were all cheering because we knew we had won the first part of the battle but we still had a big war to fight. People had signs saying “beep if you support us” for the cars to read. Then we got on the bus, and then we went back to school.

Shire hall protesters

 On 30^th January 2008, all different primary schools went on a bus to Shire Hall; all these schools have been threatened of closure, or conjoint with a different school. Hope split onto two busses and all together there was about 100 people, and made there way there separately. On bus B we were all getting ready and learning some new chants. All three chants had the same theme tune as other songs such as row row row your boat, ten green bottles and head, shoulders, knees and toes. We also held our posters against the windows of the bus and other people on the road would stare.  As we arrived we stepped down of the bus with our banners, posters and placards. We collected pom-poms and shakers and policemen helped us all cross the road safely. As soon as we stepped across the road we all started chanting, and raising our placards, banners, and posters, singing save Hope School.There where film crews from Newsround, Beckon Radio, and reporters from all different newspapers. Jess and Elkie where interviewed by the Shrewsbury Chronicle, and Newsround. When we got back everybody felt tired, but the news was fantastic, because closures have been stopped for the time being. However mergers are still going ahead. But people are still worried that people just said that to get everyone to go away.

Vanessa is 19 years old, and she was born on the 14^th December 1988.  In 2006 she had even more fame when she stared in the Disney Channel original movie; High School Musical. As well as being a fabulous actor Vanessa is a famous singer, but she only has one album, titled V.
