The Orange Challenge
Kiren came to visit us last week and we all had great fun “growing” oranges in the orange challenge. Some of us were farmers, some of us were market traders and some of us were bankers. The farmers had to overcome lots of challenges to grow and sell their oranges. We didn’t really grow the oranges we were given 5 minutes to make 4 cardboard oranges. If we didn’t make them in the time allowed we got no money! The market traders were strict and would only pay us top prices if the oranges were good quality ones. The bankers were happy to lend us money to help out but they charged lots of interest. We learnt that by buying”fair trade” products we will help the farmer and his family get paid a fair price for their products.

Hello Class 2
I had a wonderful day delivering the Orange Challenge and was really pleased with how well you all got into your roles and ‘grew’ your oranges! You were all excellent farmers, bankers, money collectors and market traders - Well done!
